These buildings will be tore down, and while I am sure it will be with some controversy, there will be a 6 story building with just SRO^?s. This doesn’t seem ideal, but there might be a lot of people that would otherwise be homeless if they don’t have an SRO. There are not enough subsidized housing options, and most of the ones that there are, there is a waiting list to get in. What does one do while on the waiting list? Simply put, if they need financial assistance to get into a studio, or 1B apartment, then what options are available.

While the SROs are not ideal, they are better than sleeping in a homeless shelter, or living in the streets. However, I understand that eve a $750 price for a place to live is really a lot of money for someone. The person can go to FSP Realty, and apply for a subsidized SRO program. They have to provide proof that they are still on a waiting list every year, but assuming they do that they will remain on the subsidized SRO program. The discount difference comes out of the funds that FSP Realty will have. For example if someone receiving $1,000 per month for income, then their rent will be $350. This means that FSP Realty just loss $400.
